In this site we going to talk about one of our important or I would more famous municipality outside of the metropolitan area, this town is called Linares, Nuevo Leon which is ubicated in the south part of the state of Nuevo Leon near to the border with Tamaulipas. Linares has a population of 84,666 (49.5% men y 50.5% women) were registered in this year of 2020 by the INEGI. Linares is a small town if we compare it with the huge cities like Monterrey or San Pedro Garza Garcia, but this town has the title of “Pueblo Magico” which is important title for this kind of towns because it brings more tourism to the area, and this helps the town to grown in importance and in an economic aspect.
We going to talk a little about how this city was founded many years ago and a little of its history through the years, Linares was founded on Abril 10 of the year 1712 by the sergeant major Don Sebastián de Villegas Cumplido founded the Villa de San Felipe de Linares in memory of the thirty-fifth Viceroy Fernando Alencastre Noroña y Silva, Duke of Linares. It was erected as a city on May 19, 1777, and in this same year the Diocese of Linares (Mexico) was established, which made it the most important religious center of the region. This was just a little of the history of how Linares was founded in the past years, Linares is known by its beautiful architecture you can admire in its streets, it looks like a old European town from the age of the Spain conquest but also this town its known by its cow and goat milk sweets, among which the famous "Glorias de Linares" stand out.
